Towing Company Perth Amboy NJ: common questions, answered the way the dispatcher answers them

These are the answers our dispatcher gives on the phone, written down. The same company that wrote them will be the one that sends your truck.

FAQ

What Perth Amboy callers want to know about our towing company before they book

The trucks and drivers belong to the company, the company is licensed and insured, a tow books for $149 by phone or $129 online with the mileage read first, the yard is in Linden about sixteen minutes away, and businesses can settle one invoice a month.

Is your company actually in Perth Amboy?

The trucks work Perth Amboy every day, but the yard is in Linden, about sixteen minutes away by Routes 1 & 9 and Route 35. We would rather say that plainly than pretend to have an office on Smith Street. Trucks are often closer than the yard when you call.

How do I know the truck that shows up belongs to you?

The dispatcher names the driver and the truck before it leaves, and the company name is on the door. The receipt carries the same name and the number you dialed. If any of that does not match, do not hand over the keys and call us back.

Are your drivers employees or contractors picked off an app?

Company drivers. They are trained on our trucks, follow our rules on photos, straps and receipts, and answer to the same dispatcher who priced your job. That is the difference between a towing company and a referral line.

Is the company licensed and insured to tow in New Jersey?

Yes. The company holds its license and carries insurance for the vehicles it tows, and the driver photographs your car before loading and after unloading. Ask the dispatcher if your shop or fleet manager needs the details in writing.

What does a tow in Perth Amboy cost with your company?

$149 to book by phone, or $129 if you book online, plus mileage to where the car is going. The dispatcher reads the total before sending a truck. The prices page lists every charge we are allowed to make.

Why does booking online save money?

Because you type the details that the dispatcher would otherwise take down, and we pass the $20 saving to you. If the car is in a travel lane or on the bridge, call instead. A voice is faster than a form in that spot.

Is it more expensive to call you at night?

No. The company staffs the phone and the trucks overnight at the same price list. Neither the booking fee nor the mileage changes with the hour, the weekend or a holiday.

Do you have a lot where my car might end up stored?

No. We are mobile only, with no storage lot and no walk-in office. Every tow ends at the shop, dealer or driveway you choose, so there is no daily storage bill and no release fee.

My delivery van died on Smith Street before the store opened. Can you move it fast?

Yes. Tell the dispatcher the block and the vehicle, and she sends a wheel-lift or a medium-duty truck that fits the curb. Shops that call regularly can open an account and receive one invoice a month.

Do you tow tractors and box trucks from the Arthur Kill terminals?

Yes. Medium and heavy-duty trucks belong to the same company and go through the same dispatcher. The driver checks in at the guard booth, and carriers can hold an account with net terms.

My car will not start in the Raritan Bay Medical Center garage. What happens?

Most garage levels are too low for a flatbed, so the driver tries a jump first at one flat price. If the car must go, he brings it to the garage entrance on a wheel-lift or dollies and loads it there.

Can you take a car with a boat trailer hitch or a trailer from the marina lot?

Tell the dispatcher exactly what you have: the tow vehicle, the trailer, and whether the boat is on it. She decides which company truck fits the job, and the price is quoted before anything moves.

I crashed on Convery Boulevard. Can I choose your company instead of the truck that showed up?

In most cases you can name your own towing company. Tell the officer ours is on the way, and our driver loads the car, photographs the damage and delivers it to the body shop you choose.

My car broke down on the Victory Bridge. Will you come?

Yes. Coast off the bridge if the car rolls. If it will not, hazards on, keep clear of the lanes, and call with your direction. It is treated as an emergency at the same booking fee.

What if I break down on the Parkway near Exit 127?

On the New Jersey Turnpike and the Garden State Parkway the shoulder itself is served by the Turnpike Authority's authorized garages; book with us anyway, and once the authorized truck has the car off the highway we take it from the exit or the garage's lot to the shop or driveway you choose, at the same flat quoted price.

Do you set up accounts for dealers and body shops on Route 35?

Yes. Dealers and body shops on Convery Boulevard and across the bridge in Sayreville and South Amboy can have a direct line to dispatch, booked windows, a rate sheet and one invoice each month. Start it on the contact page or on a call.

Can I pay by card, phone or cash?

Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Discover, Apple Pay, Google Pay and cash are all accepted, at the same price. Businesses with an account can pay monthly on net terms.

Will my insurer or roadside plan accept your receipt?

It is written for that. The receipt names the company, lists the booking fee, the mileage and any extra work on separate lines, and comes with the photos taken at pickup and delivery if you need them.

Do I need a membership to use your towing company?

No. Anyone can call, and the first call is priced the same as the hundredth. Businesses that call often use an account, which is an invoice arrangement, not a membership.

Can I ride along in the truck to the shop?

Usually yes, with room for one or two people in the cab and no charge for it. Tell the dispatcher how many are riding so the right truck is sent.

Do you only tow, or can you fix small problems on the spot?

Every company truck carries a jump pack, tire tools, a lockout kit and fuel. A jump start, tire change, lockout or fuel delivery is one flat price each, and the dispatcher offers that first when it will get you moving.

Is your company hiring tow truck drivers near Perth Amboy?

Yes. The company recruits flatbed and wheel-lift drivers, owner-operators and roadside providers. Openings are listed on the driver jobs page.
